Lake Ledge Naturalist

Interpretive Statement
Fern Trail provides all abilities the opportunity to explore and connect with the natural world through interpretive panels that build awareness and understanding of the critical landscapes and rich natural history of the Door peninsula.

Project Description

The accessible trail includes seven interpretive panels designed to engage a broad spectrum of learners and abilities. Each exhibit highlights audio interpretation, rich illustration, guided imagery and tactile elements.

Audio Description and enrichment audio is provided for each panel 
Audio includes bird song, first person narrative, sound effects and music. Visitors activate audio by using a sound enabled brochure or by touching the audio pen to the panel.

Lake Ledge managed the project, developed themes, secured funding, wrote panel content, directed art and illustration, provided photography and audio scripting and audio description content. Lake Ledge commissioned many talented artists and fabricators to create custom illustrations, tactiles, voice and audio description. To learn more read this article
